![]() Since it's ranged, you don't have to worry as much about it being so suicidalĭon't be afraid to pick it back up on your Reviving Ether turn. As long as you have some other melee in your party likely to tank a hit or two, you're far more likely to get attacks out of it if you go fast. Slow on the turn you summon it, fast on the turn after. It can get range on its own for the most part.ĭon't summon it if you don't have something to tank some hits, whether it be your own body or an ally's. As a matter of fact, that's a particularly bad thing to do. ![]() It will Move 2, Attack X, so you don't have to summon it already in range of enemies. Some hints:įirst room isn't always a good time for it unless you know you're going to be moving slowly or opening doors & creating a kill zone I've had my Mystic Ally stick with me for most of a scenario and deal a whole bunch of damage. You're most likely summoning them in a bad spot. I've tried both the first and second summon, and my hope that the increased ranged would make a big difference on the 2nd one did not pay off.Īm I missing something? Or are these things just bad? It only survived more than one turn once, and by the time we killed those enemies in the 2nd room and moved to the next door, it took so long for it to go from being idle and not moving (when there were no enemies on the map) to the next room (after the door was opened), that it did nothing for the rest of the scenario. They particularly ineffective when you have enemies coming from 2 directions. ![]() Ranged attackers, especially those with multi-targets, wreck them. Since it automatically has a better initiative than me, it's always prioritized as a target over me and it's too squishy.Įven when I try to position myself to take a hit for it, it's near impossible to position myself to do so when there are multiple enemies. It seems to me that the problems I've had are: ![]() I've tried doing things like going for a slow initiative on the turn that I summon it, and on the following turn too so that it's a lower priority target. I've only had one survive to deal more than 1 attack ONCE, ever. They often end up dead before even making 1 attack. I've found that I can't keep them alive long enough to ever do anything.
